World Championships 2011 - Timed Training
Sep 2, 2011 at 9:52
While it seems that many riders didn't take timed training too seriously this morning, Aaron Gwin and Rachel Atherton have finished their runs noticeably faster than their closest competitors. For the Juniors it was Faustin Figaret of France and Manon Carpenter. Junior Timed Training times will be used for seeding purposes for the final, while for the Elite riders it's just a chance to see how fast they're actually going...

Unfortunately, this was Cam Cole's ride this afternoon. The Giraffe went down hard just before timed runs. Heal up and we'll see you back next year, big guy. |

Cam Cole went down hard today and broke his arm in 2 places. Here he is the run before he went down, in exactly the same place he went down. |

Steve Peat. Countless World Championships and he is still on top of his game. Uncle Steve lead out the whip train this morning with Brendawg, Greg, Ratboy and more in tow; pied piper anyone? |

Rhys Willemse had some fun for the cameras this morning off of the lower jumps. Style gets you bonus points with the photographers. |

Danny Hart got his mega whip on this afternoon in timed runs. The kid is a showman, and fast as hell. He has a big future ahead of him! |

The countdown to Boxxer Worlds is T-minus 26:02.13 and ticking at the time this image was shot. Evan Warner is getting zen with his attempt for the coveted crown with some alone time behind the SRAM chalet in Champery. |

Mechanics are the busiest people on the World Cup. Jacy Shumilak spends a lot of time building wheels for Sam, Troy and Brendan. Yesterday, Troy had a digger and blew up the entire front end of his bike - Jacy was back to work in a hurry building wheels. |
