There were a LOT of full suspension rigs out there in qualifying this evening.

Fionn Griffiths did her qualifying run on her DH bike. I wanted as straight a line as possible. I certainly won t race this bike tomorrow but for qualies it was what I wanted.

Filip Polk is back after that nasty crash in Val di Sole during DH training. And not only racing DH but going for 4X as well.

Anneke Beerten
Anneke Beerten took a slower line in qualifying. With three different lines to choose from qualifying results were all about line choice.

Lucia Oetjen opted for the low line during qualies.

Melissa Buhl took the high line.

And Jana Horakova went right down the middle. She should have taken the high line--Buhl qualified first.

Thomas Slavik damn near binned it slamming through a gate with one leg off. Slavik had to run back up and go around the gate in order to qualify.

Jared Graves had an equally crappy qualifying run with a rear flat. Neither he nor Slavik are getting good gates tomorrow.

Michal Prokop on the other hand had a clean run and qualified first.

Ian Hylands and rest of Pinkbike: Can you stop putting the winners in the title of the article? It's a total spoiler for people who will want to watch the replays.

Unfortunately no, that's the most important part of the news headline. If you don't want to know who won, don't look at Pinkbike until after you watch the race, that should be easy enough.

Wow. What's wrong with a title like "World Championships 2011 - 4X Qualifiers Results"?

Graves blew up his tire in the first turn. Really a shame as he was on fire yesterday! My friend (photographer) Christophe Knevels took an epic shot off Graves nailing the corner and the tire going open at the rim!!

Can he upload it on pinkbike, please? Big Grin It's a pitty that he spoiled his run, but he's really lucky that there's not much competitors... and he qualificated either way

I'm sure we'll know in a bit once Colin gets back from shooting it and uploads his photos and a bit of a report hopefully, at least in the captions...

 What's up with the b/w?

flag IanHylands Mod Plus (Sep 1, 2011 at 15:51)
They hold the event at night and restrict the use of flash by photographers, so B&W is way better for it...
