Val di Sole World Cup - Slavik and Beerten win 4X

Tomas Slavik and Anneke Beerten have won the 4X at Val di Sole, followed by Fischbach, Tartarkovic and Graves for the men, Oetjen, Buhl and Gros for the women.

The mens final was action packed and the thriller of the night. Graves having crashed in qualifying was left with gate three for the A final. He got a blistering gate and quickly moved over to shut down the inside. Slavik went from fourth place in the 1st corner to second by transferring the last jump of the pro section. Landing wide he was able to maintain his speed over the logs and caught Graves asleep and squeezed him take a tight line inside between Graves elbow and the corner flag. This unsettled Graves down the rock garden where he crashed out leaving his 4x final memories, one he would wish he could forget..

Beerten was untouchable all evening.

Graves won the overall by the last round, guessing why he was so complacent in his race run? He didn't realise Slavik was on his heels.. This was the best 4x round this year with plenty of clean overtaking manouvers and creative lines..
Make sure you watch the DH on Eurosport Sunday evening from the comfort of your living room!

Best commentary I've heard between races. So funny. Said by Rob Warner just before mens small final (90min into replay) regarding a girl in the crowd "Christ all mighty she could eat an apple for a tennis racket with teeth like that", "someone get her some braces for crying out loud".

Graves AGAIN let Slavik take the lead (recalling last world champs), his run was epic! Pure power and technique, congratulations!

hahaha, Graves wants to hit him. I think that move was only just ok. any more contact and he would have washed graves out. but i don't see why graves wasn't pedaling!!!
