Actually, pro's tips how to overcome the fear or how to regain self-confidence after a crash would be indeed interesting Big Grin

Like this one, I first learnt to flip a few years ago whilst riding a foam pit with Sam there. I think as much as it's about "balls" it's about riding with people of that level of confidence, when you see them throwing crazy variations and telling you how basic something like a flip is, you are more likely to push yourself, cheers Sam.

go fast, look back and pull kids! in all seriousness its better off in my opinion not to head crank. It tought me very bad habbits. flip with your body not your head

to be honest in my opinion, the main thing with flips is simply to make sure you commit and stay commited, dont half commit cause ull come back down on your head ! Smile

viccityburner - so glad you said that. Every time I see someone rotate by throwing their head back I cringe.

Readers, please go to a trampoline or gymnastics class and get a coach to teach you correct rotation technique. One lesson is all you need and you will rotate in safety - you will be able to start and stop the rotation at any time and you will never over-rotate and you will stomp the landings.

As a wakeboarding coach once said - "Twenty minutes on the trampoline is worth two days in the water."

i agree, head cranked flips arent very pretty, i actually find looking forward and doing a no look flip (the way semenuk does em) to be the easiest. way less scary cuz u can see the landing pretty much all the time, plus they feel waaaayy coolerRazz

I wonder if he plays piano... Funeral march upside down.. I like the practical notation of it all.. I think he's right, that its possible with the right techniques... That any trick is possible with the right technique and right attitudes..

Now this is not a trick that I know of but while I was thinking and I thought of a new trick Here it is.
It is a nothing (360+Tailwhip in Oppisite Directions) but On the first time your bike passes under you you catch it facing AWAY from the landing and with out pausing do a 180 to land it. I have wanted to see someone do this for a while and whether it comes From the how to vids or a full DJ edit I would be happy!

eye balls looking backwards will create enough rotational momentum to throw the whole body around?

Then there are those like myself that can get them down in the foam but have yet to try it on a regular jump or ramp.
