honestly i think that the number 1 shouldnt be number 1, from a photo aspect, the idea is cool but its just so damn blurry!!! number 4 was my favorite!

Eleventyfive - great point, in the next one I might do that, does anyone else want to see the order reversed?

shredstatus and others that have commented on the order - I have just left them in the order of most views to least views, unless there is one that I don't like as much, in which case it gets bumped to runner up status. Would anyone like me to take the top 5 and put them in my own order or are you happy seeing them starting with the most views? Let me know, thanks!

Ian, I think you should put them in the order you like best. You are a fantastic photographer, and have a great eye for photos. Some photos may have more views because they were taken by a more well known photographer, while another may have been taken by some nobody, and therefore they dont have as many views.

thanks. bubbaleech they may have all been taken by different levels of photographer, but they also were all POD's, so the biggest factor really in the number of views seems to be how good they look small on the home page. If something looks exciting small lots of people click on it. If it looks average in thumbnail size then less people tend to check it out...

Very true Ian. And to what you said, I bet #1 looked a hell of a lot more exciting than #4 when small. I feel that you should order them in the order that you see fit, and also go from

5. "damn"
4. "Damn!"
3. "DAMN SON!"
2. "Dayum! This shot is unreal!

I think that seems to be the consensus so far, so starting next month that's what we'll see. I get the top 8 most viewed photos to choose from, and I pick the top 5... So I'll actually pick from them in the order that I see fit. I'm sure there will be complaints, but I have no problem with that. Intelligent complaints just mean I need to improve...

These are all awesome shots...although I am very surprised the shot by Laue came in 5th...that is a technically on point shot from a lighting and asthetic perspective. IMO brilliant!

I agree. Kind of average setting though. Better than 2 and 3, but 1 and 4 have a little something extra. Maybe you need to have different categories for POM? Like camera work, setting/stunt, epic shot and then an overall best shot. Something along those lines.

As my comment above says the order is based on the number or views, except of course I bump something to runner up status if I don't think it fits. Would you rather I put them in my own order, ie picked the winner based on personal preference, or should I just leave them in order starting with the most views, basically the viewers favorites?

Totally understand that these are based on views alone. So no need to change things. However, maybe it would be good to offer your ranking from a photographer's perspective, I'm sure folks would appreciate hearing how the ranking would go from someone looking at the technical and aesthetic quality of a pic as well as content. It's all good either way, awesome to see all these great photographs showcased Smile

Being only a Uni student, im really grateful for all the comments on the Nangle photo and really Appreciate the support and exposure Smile

As im not a big time pro photographer, is really amazing to get all this positive feedback, BIG thanks guys!! It's really useful to see all the comments and peoples thoughts on images, as it nice to see what people think about you're photos and help's you improve them. Helps you think what to do or look out for next time. All the photos and photographers in this POM deserve a big hand and big props, as there is some really sick photos here!! At the end of the day i had so much fun taking this photo and if it inspirers and stokes out the viewer, thats just an amazing bonus!! And thats why i love taking photos Big Grin

5 - is pure goodness
1 - an excellent shot which stands out among legions of dj pics
3 - has nice contrast and makes me wanna rail a berm
4 - seems like i've seen versions of it several times, but definately epic
2 - although that's a pretty sick drift, i can't get past the godawful yellow suit to appreciate the pic

The ranking on these is purely based on the number of views, they're not chosen other than possibly being bumped down to runner up status based on how I feel about the photo... ie Sam's shot had 29,000 views which would have placed it 4th, but I thought the 4th and 5th photos were better quality images, Sam's just had a really big sick trick in it...
