Kirt Voreis, the unseen NWD shoot...

Last year I shot a few things with Kirt Voreis while filming for NWD 10. In the end Freeride only used some really sick trail riding footage, and I only sold a few images. These are the highlights from a shoot that didn't make the cut.

Photos inside...I saw this spot while Kirt and I were out scouting for some NWD locations. Two of us on a TTR, just a little bit gay maybe? We also had a 50, but Travis was riding that most of the time. T-Sage is filming in the early digging/building shots, and then Dustin filmed it for the final NWD part that was never used...






Kirt is pretty friendly with spiders and snakes, he found this Tarantula on the trail while we were filming. While we were scouting in the beginning (the gay stuff with me being doubled on the TTR) I almost got hit by a pretty big Rattlesnake. I didn't have a camera with me so no photos of it, but it struck the back of the bike as we rode past the bush it was sleeping under, missed my leg by an inch or two.


It took more than a few tries for Kirt to get it dialed. The first few times he hit it he was over spinning it and going pretty much 360. Once he landed it at 360 and almost rode out fakie. Crazy stuff and some crazy crashes. It's hard to spin slow on something this big...






I'd always intended to shoot it at sunset, all back lit and pretty looking with strobes, but that wasn't going to work for filming. I'll go back and do it right with Kirt on his new bike sometime this year. Look for it.
