1. Brandon Semenuk 2. Andreu Lacondeguy 3. Sam Pilgrim 4. Mehdi Gani 5. Martin Söderström 6. Lance McDermott 7. Yannick Granieri 8. Niki Leitner 9. Amir Kabbani 10. Linus Sjöholm 11. Cameron McCaul 12. Sam Reynolds 13. Cameron Zink 14. Florian Berghammer 15. Mitch Chubey
Brandon Semenuk won Jump Ship last weekend and qualified first today. After his injury at Crankworx last year took him out of contention for the win he's on a mission this year.
Sam Pilgrim is the current FMB World Tour leader, and he qualified third here today behind Semenuk and Lacondeguy.
Andreu about as stretched as you can get in a superman. Good enough for 2nd place in qualifying.
Mehdi Gani with a nice 360 X Up.
Gani again, this time with a flip barspin. Mehdi has been killing it this year in the European events and qualified 4th today
Mehdi Gani and Cam McCaul
Cam McCaul with a 360 double whip. This is Cam's first FMB event of the year and he needs to do well here to get on the score board. 11th place in qualifying.
Martin Soderstrom with a big 360 whip. Solid tricks qualified him in 5th spot, he's currently ranked 3rd in the tour.
Lance McDermott, super flip
Lance qualified in 6th spot and he's happy about that. He's had a bit of a rough go with injuries that past season, but he's looking for a come back.
Sam Reynolds with a giant flip whip
Niki Leitner qualified 8th today
Yannick Granieri tucking his way into 7th today
Yannick with a flip that really shows how big this jump actually is...
Last year Cam Zink won Crankworx, Rampage, and the overall title. Today he qualified 13th
Mitch Chubey just made it in. 3rd last weekend and currently sitting in 8th overall, he needs a good score here to move up on the board.
Only the top 15 qualified today and although Ray Samson is currently ranked 13th in the overall, unfortunately he didn't make the cut
Judges tower.
Magda, chilling trackside...
After seeing the photos and videos who do you think is going to win? Semenuk and McCaul both need good results here to move up on the score board, McCaul especially as this is his first event. As a newly married man he'll be looking to bring home something special for his bride Bonee as well. Semenuk has 500 points to leader Sam Pilgrim's 1500 so far, he needs to win here to move up, and if Pilgrim wins tomorrow his lead will grow significantly and he knows it. There are also a few younger riders to look out for such as Mehdi Gani. Mehdi is currently ranked 4th on the tour and qualified 4th here today, how will he do tomorrow in the big event?
With bad weather set to roll in the event has been pushed forward a bit with training set for 10:30am tomorrow and the finals will begin at 12:30pm.
If it was just PB I'd be all good, but I have one or two other jobs on the go all the time right now as well. All related, but I'm still doing my own photography stuff as well and teaching still. And I have a 3 year old....
Just wanted to say great job getting this up Ian! You're clearly over-worked and probably just a little stressed! In the scheme of things a couple grammatical errors are pretty insignificant if you ask me!
Yeah it's still unacceptable for me to make mistakes, I'm working on it. The biggest issues are all the euro events when I'm adding photos and captions and writing reports either at midnight or 1, or in the case of events like the World Cup DH's, up watching the live stream and writing at 5AM. Can't wait for MSA and Windham, things will be at reasonable hours...
aww dude i can see how this would be a pretty hard job now :/ but your doing a really great job and im sure i speak for all of the members of pink bike when i say we would be bored shitless with out these articles and bloggy things
I think it's great that europiam riders and american riders are riding together, it should make it way more interesting. Also glad to see lance is getting back up on the score board!
I'm glad that there's some asian presence in this event with Mehdi Gani. Now, we just need a really good African guy. Then we'll be fully multi-cultural.
He gives off a very awkward vibe when you meet him. Very shy and reserved. Gives him the appearance of not being stoked on anything. Very polite though. Apparently he was home schooled, which would explain the slight bit of social awkwardness.
I think you guys should look out for Martin Söderström, i know he wants to win the tour so this event is important. Happy to see 2 swedish riders qualify (:
Thanks man, I fully should have noticed that with the Red Bull helmet and full Yannick tuck style. Too tired, just read the caption on the photos and went with it...
